VW / AUDI / SEAT GROM USB/iPod interface adapter

USB Connection: GROM-USB car stereo adapter connects your USB 2.0 device such as flash drive, external hard drive or mass storage device to the stock stereo in your car. With GROM-USB you can listen to your digital music library and control the playback through your car stereo controls.

iPod/iPhone Integration: Connect your iPod/iPhone to the car stereo. Control music files with the car stereo or steering wheel controls, browse by folders and files, and charge your iPod/iPhone.

AUX Input: 3.5 aux connection for any additional audio source (such as DVD, MP3 player, XM and more).

Operation of USB is simple:

Transfer your MP3/WMA/iTunes (AAC) files to USB stick/disk/drive
Connect GROM-USB car kit to your car stereo via CD changer port
Connect USB male to female cable to GROM
Plug-in USB disk / stick / drive into GROM

Now your stereo:

Converted USB disk into virtual CD changer
Plays MP3 / WMA / iTunes (AAC) files
Browse your music files via car stereo buttons (check Operation Manual)
Navigates through directories and map them to the disc buttons on your car stereo or steering wheel controls
Plays higher than CD quality (18 bits) sound directly to your car stereo
Provides additional AUX input via 3.5 mm (you will need to get 3.5 mm male to male cable for that)
Provides additional iPod/iPhone interface with full control and charge with GROM IPOD 5V cable for USB

For VW, Seat and Skoda car makes:
GROM Adapter is available now with 2 cable choices - VAGS (single din stereos) and VAGD (double din stereos) cable for dashboard mounting and VAG-T cable for trunk mounting. Depending on where would you like to mount your adapter you can choose between those two choices, or we can supply you with both upon request. Below are the pictures of VAGS cable (left), VAGD cable and VAG-T cable.

Pros of using VAG-T (trunk mounting) cable
- No need to take out the stereo or disassemble the dashboard in order to gain access to the CD changer port
- Less time for an instalation work
Cons:
- You will have to store your USB stick or iPod in the trunk

Note for AUDI: In some AUDI vehicles, a solid 3-in-1 factory connector blocks access to the CD changer port.
The factory connector must be removed to gain access to the CD changer port. If that is your case you need to use AUDS harness that accepts the factory connector and plugs into the radio, leaving the CD changer port open for proper use of any interface adapter or auxiliary input converter (including GROM-IPOD).
