All setting options for DashLinq are available here: Temperature units, choose Bluetooth connection, advanced settings and so on.
Touch the “Add” icon to add new Action (Apps, Shortcuts, and Plugins):

This will bring you to the Action selection screen:

1st: Touch either Apps, Shortcuts, and Plugins at the top of the screen to select the type of action you want to add.
2nd: A list of icons available will display Touch the icons below to select the desired action to be added to DashLinq
The app you desired will the then display on in place of the “Action” icon
Our current version supports English, German, French and Romanian.

NOTE: To activate “where is my car” function, your phone must be connected to the car or a GROM Bluetooth while DashLinQ is in use.
DashLinQ supports all external audio players, and its own plugins for Local (stored on the phone) music, Google Music (needs to be purchase or uploaded to Google Music cloud system), Web Radio, and Spotify (paid Spotify account is required).
Shortcuts to audio players are available in the “APPS” section. You can place Amazon Music, Audible, or any other of your favorite media player aps to the main DashLinQ launcher screen.

No matter what player or DashLinQ media pluging will you use, you can always quickly access its controls by sliding down on DashLinQ launcher screen.
Any time when DashLinQ is active, you will see the floating icon on the side of your phone screen. By tapping on this icon you can quickly access DashLinQ car mode.

To get rid of that icon simply exit DashLinQ, You can also disable it by going to Settings–>Show Quick Return icon. Note that Quick Return icon is handy when you are in the other app (such as Navigation) and need to quickly return back to DashLinQ car mode launcher screen.
DashLinQ is designed to minimize your distraction while driving. We designed DashLinq for the quick and safe access to the essentials: Navigation, Hands Free phone calls and in-car music.
Navigation and Hands Free Phone Calls can be accessed by pressing big red “Voice” button at the lower left corner of the screen. As soon as it is pressed you will get the prompt “Select action on screen” and with one touch you can select between “Call” or “Navigate”.

Once you select your voice command, the rest is all voice operated.
Press Call –> will be asked “Whom would you like to call”. As soon as you see “Speak Now” – say the name of your contact. The phone will initiate the phone call to this person.
Press Navigate –>will be asked “Where would you like to go?” As soon as you see “Speak Now” – say your destination. The phone will activate Google Navigation upon your request.
DashLinQ music plugins are optimized for in-car use with big buttons, intuitive design and gesture control support. Learn more under “Media Player Plugins” section.
Currently, Google Maps provides the most up-to-date maps information, including traffic data and points of interest. Other map clients cannot ensure the most accurate information on traffic, roads, and road conditions.

Media

You will be sent to the following screen and, depending on the media type you have selected (Local Music, Spotify, etc.), you will see the controls for playing your current selection:
Yes, you can! Select the following icon on the upper corner of the Media Player screen to access the DashLinq Media Player:

Modify sound equalization manually through these controls

You can modify equalizer settings with just one swipe.
This is currently not possible. DashLinq has specific music controls that are specific to its player. This system is able to support a wide range of media players.
You can creation action
If the you are using an app that is not one of the DashLinq Media Player plugins, such as iHeart Radio; then, just as any other app that you have setup to load from DashLinq, the music app will be loaded outside of DashLinq.
You can set a quick access to it from the launcher screen. Once the music is playing via this app, you will be able to access the controls of this player by swiping down on the main launcher screen.

GMusic only supports purchased or uploaded to Google Play Music, it does not support Google Play radio.
You can browse by Albums, Artists and Songs. You can set up the Playlists with your favorite music to access them later.
The music is sorted by Album, Artists and Songs. If you started to play the song while you were in Albums section, the next song upon right-left swipe will be either the next song within same Album (if there are still songs available), or the first song in the next Album, in the alphabetical order.
If you started to play the song while you were in Artists section, and want to change the songs “by Artist” – you need to press and hold until you see options “Play”, “Add to playlist” and “Delete Cache”. Click on “Play” to start playing the songs by Artists in the alphabetical order. Upon the next swipe in the playing song screen the player will play the next song of the same Artist, or the first song of the next Artist in alphabetical order.
If you started to play the song while you were in the Songs section, the next song upon right-left swipe will be the next song in alphabetical order, out of all songs.
Swipe left to right will go to the previous song, and right to left to the next song.

Navigation

You have to create Action icon for Maps before you can access DashLinq’s Navigation features
1. Touch the Add icon to add new Action:

2. This will bring you to the Action selection screen. Select APPS at the top of the screen:

3. You will see a list of apps available to DashLinq listed alphabetically. Scroll down until you find the app called Maps. Select it:

4. Maps will now be listed. Select this icon to take you to start navigation:

NOTE: Currently, Google Maps provides the most up-to-date maps information, including traffic data and points of interest. Other map clients are just not up to par yet.

Yes! As long as the app is assessable with DashLinq, you can setup DashLinq to activate that app. Please refer to “How to I add Apps, Shortcuts, and Plugins?” in this FAQ for learn how to setup an app within DashLinq.

Because of Google Maps Terms of Use, our navigation system can’t be embedded or recreated within DashLinq.

COMMUNICAITON & VOICE ACTIVATION

DashLinQ can be set up to directly take you to either your Phone Interface and/or your Text Messaging Interface. Here is what you have to do to set this up:
1. Touch the Add icon to add new Action:

2. This will bring you to the Action selection screen. Select Shortcuts at the top of the screen and find “Direct Dial”
3. Find the person that you want to add to the shortcut. The direct dial icon will appear on the DashLinq main launcher screen.
For your safety we implemented SMS Read Aloud.
If you are driving and the message comes in, you will receive a voice prompt such as “Message from …”
The next prompt will be “Tap on screen to listen”
If you tap on screen, the message will be red aloud to you.
You can also “Swipe up” to cancel, or the message will disappear within next 10 seconds.
You will be able to access and read, and reply back to it safely once you stop the car and step out of DashLinq.
1. Select the voice activation icon from DashLinq’s main screen:

You will see a window pop up, offering you to choose from Call or Navigation:

2. Select Call. Another screen will pop up and a voice will ask you who you wish to call:

3. Speak the name of the desired person you wish to call.
a) If your name is recognized by DashLinQ, your request will be transferred to your phone interface and the call will be placed
b) If there is multiple instances of the name your spoke, then a pop up window will appear with a list of contacts for you to select. Choose the contact your wish to call from this list. Your phone interface and the call will be placed:

c) If DashLinQ doesn’t recognize the name you spoke, then a voice will explain the contact was not found and you will be returned to the main screen. Repeat steps 1 through 2. Speak slower and more clearly.
NOTE: if there is no success in achieving the desired outcome after several tried you should attempt another method for making your desired phone call.

4. Speak the name of the desired destination you wish to go.
a) If your location is recognized by DashLinq, Google Maps will open with navigation set for your desired destination
b) If DashLinq doesn’t recognize the destination you spoke, then a voice will explain the destination was not found and you will be returned to the main screen. Repeat steps 1 through 2. Speak slower and more clearly.
NOTE: if there is no success in achieving the desired outcome after several tried you should attempt another method for making your desired phone call.
