  • 2013 RDX w/Tech Package (Nav) reverse wire location

    Hey Grom audio,

    Hoping you can help me locate the reverse wire on my 2013 RDX Tech (Canadian, if that matters). The wire pinout doesn't match the leaflet that was included in my unit so I want to make sure I'm tapping the correct one (or testing it before I tap). Attached are a photo of the model number of my head unit, the rear ports and what I think is the correct connector but I'm not certain if it has to be on the 28 pin.

    There's one other connector that could bit it, though it's a 24 pin and not a 28 pin (with a brown wire at 16);

    Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm struggling a bit with this one.

    It should be pin 15 on the 16 pin connector behind the radio. This is the same 16 pin connector that get's plugged into the Female side of our 16pin display harness.

    Pin 15 should be a grey wire.

    We had a similar question asked in the past, here is the forum for that:

    Thanks,

      Thanks Heath, can confirm that was the same pin on the 2013. Unit is up and working now.

        Hi AdamvsMaximvs,

        Hey were you able to get this working? I too spent quite a bit of time looking for a 28pin connector with a reverse signal on pin 20 to no avail. Using your post I was able to find it on the 16pin connector and confirmed with a multimeter.

        However, I continue to have intermittent issues with Vline startup. When it works properly, I immediately see “CDC” mode and numbers begin to tick up as if I’m playing a CD. 50% of the time I see “CDC” and no numbers ticking up and I’m unable to access any Vline menus even though I can confirm my phone is connecting correctly through Bluetooth and then even CarPlay via the Vline WiFi hotspot.

        Any help is greatly appreciated!

          Hey, sorry I hadn't logged in for a while. That's odd. The CDC on the main deck is how it should be operating. I'm wondering if you've connected the video plug to the wrong one? IIRC there were two plugs on the back of the Acura deck that could fit the Vline adapter and it wasn't perfectly clear which one to go with. One controls the video to the unit and I'm wondering if you plugged it into the other one?
