  • VLine VL2 System and factory FM or XM Radio - can they work together?

This is one of the frequent questions that we receive, if the VLine vL2 system and factory XM Radio or FM Radio can work together. The answer is yes - they can work together, but not at the same time.

VLine VL2 does not disable your XM Radio or FM Radio, you can still use them. However you can't use VLine (for example using Google Maps) and XM Radio or FM Radio at the same time. VLine uses certain "mode" of your factory stereo - either USB/iPod, AUX or CDC (CD changer). When the stereo is in the specific "mode" that is used by VLine, it can't be in the other "mode". For example you can't play your CDs and FM radio at the same time.

But the great thing is that with VLine VL2 system you get the access to myriad of different music streaming options. That include Spotify, Web Radio (TuneIn), Sound Cloud, Pandora, Tidal, you name it. You can stream the music from your smartphone using CarPlay or Android Auto, or you can stream directly on VLine using VLine's user interface. And you can have the Google, Waze, or Apple Maps integrated and working at the same time.

And if you are a big fun of FM Radio or XM Radio, look for the FM Radio or XM Radio apps that are available on Google Play Store or iTunes. You can also use them simultaneously with maps applications.

With VLine the possibilities are endless!

P.S. Note that not all music players are supported with CarPlay or Android Auto, so check the compatibility of the specific music app first.
