  • DashCam Installation in 2017 Acura RDX

I would like to install a dash-cam for my 2017 Acura RDX. Is there a way to do this, and use the Hon3VL2 to route the camera's output to the display screen of the vehicle? I see there is an HDMI input.......
IF so how does the button assignment work to turn the camera display on/off?

    Thanks!

The VLine2 can be used with a Dash Camera that has an HDMI Output. You would simply route the HDMI cable from the Dash Camera to the VLine2's HDMI Input as you mentioned. Currently we do not have any option to show the HDMI Input via a button press, but we can look into adding that for cases like this. As things currently are, you would need to open the "AV-IN" Plugin to view the dash camera video feed.

If you find a Dash Camera with an RCA video output, it could be connected to the "V1" port on the VAUX accessory harness instead of HDMI. We do have an option under the "Key mapping" to show the V1 video feed from a mappable button, so this might be the best way to connect a Dash Camera in your vehicle.

Here is where to find the Key mapping option for V1:
    1. Go to the VLine2 Home Screen
    2. Open the Hamburger Menu in the upper left (3 Horizontal Lines button)
    3. Open "Key mapping"
    4. Select "EXT2 Video Activate" and then press the button on the Radio you'd like to use
(For the HON3, you should have the MENU, INFO, and PHONE buttons available to use)

    Thanks,
