We got a question from a customer: Should I use the factory microphone with the included harness or use the included aftermarket microphone? Is one better than the other? Where should I route the new microphone if that is the preferred one?
For LEX5/LEX5LS models of GROM VLine VL2 / VLite VT2 systems for select Lexus 2006-2009 models, there are two options for the microphone available:
1. Use the factory microphone. For that, you will need to connect the factory microphone retention wire, WLEX5MIC (https://gromaudio.com/store/vline_ac...-wlex5mic.html)

Both WLEX5MIC wire - the factory microphone retention wire, and the aftermarket microphone are part of the LEX5/LEX5LS VLine VL2 and VLite VT2 systems package.

In general, a factory microphone provides a better user experience as it is best tailored to the specific vehicle. However, using an aftermarket microphone is always an option with the VLine VL2 / VLite VT2 system.
