Can the OEM radio/satellite be used as audio source while still using CarPlay on screen (such as Waze for navigation)?
The answer is no, your stereo needs to be in VLine mode, to keep showing Waze or Google Maps. The stereo cannot be in two modes at the same time. You can however stream the music from many music streaming apps, that also include Sirius SAT app or FM radio. You can also look into the apps that you can use offline. For example Spotify has offline option.
The apps can run directly on the VLine itself, or on the smartphone, for CarPlay or Android Auto functionality.
