Honda Knob seems to be stuck in Map App

I have a VLite installed on a 2015 Honda Odyssey, the knob is used to navigate Android Auto. I can't seem to get the selector to go back to the bottom row of apps after getting into Waze. It is "stuck" in the Waze app and I have to restart vehicle or reconnect Android Auto so I can get back to the buttons on the bottom row. What am I doing wrong? Is there some combination of buttons that I am supposed to use to get off the map?

To access the bottom row of APPS on the 2015 Honda Odyssey, use the back button to the left of the selector knob to access the bottom row of applications, the selector knob clicked upward will then navigate back up to the applications that are in the upper portion of the Android Auto window.
