  • VLINE not activating OEM backup camera properly evertime

    Hey folks,
    one more question:
I have a oem backup camera in my SAAB 9-5NG. Every other time I am backing up in a parking lot the camera does not activate and the android or car play screen stays on.
sometimes it works as it is supposed to be and as soon as I am shifting to Reverse I can see the backup camera view.

is there any setting I need to (de)activate?

also, since the last major update (vline firmware/android 12) if I switch to the oem radio screen or navigation system it switches just after 1-2sec immediately back to the VLINE surface.
prior to this update if I was switching to the other OEM functions of the car the VLINE was keeping this setting until I switched back to the „USB“ port.

Sorry to hear this is happening! Most likely this issue is related to firmware, and we have had a couple of similar reports on newer GM1 firmware (version 39-41). We are currently working on this and hoping to have a fix soon!

In the meantime, I suggest downgrading the firmware to version 38, which does not have the same issue. If version 38 helps, we will know it's related to the firmware and that we will have a fix soon. If version 38 does not help, then we will know it's something specific to your vehicle and we can work with you directly to resolve it.

Here are instructions to flash the firmware:
    To apply the Firmware:
    1. Download this file onto a USB Flash Drive (DO NOT place the file inside of any folders)
    2. Plug the USB Flash Drive into the VLine2's USB port (Either USB port 1 or 2)
    3. Turn the vehicle on and enter the VLine2 UI/Source
    4. Wait 5-10 seconds on the VLine Home Screen for a popup asking if you'd like to update
    5. Accept the popup, wait 10 seconds, and then turn the vehicle off
    6. Wait another 10 seconds, and turn the vehicle back on

The firmware should now be fully installed and updated.

If the firmware does not help, or you'd like to stay updated on the status of the fix, I'd suggest opening a ticket with us here:

Updated the firmware and so far it seems to work. Was just driving around a couple of minutes but camera was always working as it should!

      Appreciate your help!
