  • CarPlay phone calls are distorted and sound bad - what to do?

If you are using CarPlay with either VLine VL2 or VLite VT2 system, and the phone calls are distorted so the other party cannot hear you well - here is what you can do to fix it:

While on the phone call, touch the upper right corner of the iPhone and swipe down from the top of the screen.
There should be a "Mic Mode" in the upper right corner.
"Standard" is best for calls using CarPlay.
If you have "Voice Isolation" instead of "Standard," tap on the "Mic mode" and change it to "Standard." It should fix the phone call distortion while using CarPlay.
The "Voice Isolation" feature during a phone call was introduced on iOS 16.4.

Remember to turn the "Voice Isolation" off and switch to "Standard" for CarPlay phone calls.
