  • CarPlay unresponsive at startup

Since the android 12 update, about 50% of the time I start the car (04 Lexus LS430), CarPlay starts up (nice and quick now thanks!) but is unresponsive. No carplay apps do anything, not even the Grom icon. Turning my phone OFF to disconnect CarPlay and then back on usually fixes it, but is very annoying.

i also have the same issue on my lexus rx350 2017 after the android 12 update. everytime i start up the car, carplay will connect and play spotify music instantly which it never happened before but i like it this way however the screen becomes unresponsive. the cursor somehow works but its just only moving around and unable to click on anything. like OP said, i found out that if i turn off and on the wifi on my iphone then the carplay works normally.

We recommend to wait for the patch that we should release in a few days. It should fix the bug.

I'm having the same issue as well. Fully patched VL2 running Android 12 in a 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser. The carplay screen freezes after launch the first 1-2 times it connects, but usually works fine after the 3rd time disconnecting wifi from the phone and reconnecting.

Try to reset the CarPlay connection fully. Here is how:

Also ensure the date and time on your VLine system are correct. If not, go to Settings --> About --> Date and time
