  • Acura RDX 2013 VLine VL2 - Have android handle/control calls

Have a VL2 in my 2013 RDX and it works mostly well. It does seem to freeze or disconnect occasionally, but otherwise works. Whenever I try to make a handsfree call via Android auto, the car's nav system kicks out of android auto once the call starts and goes back to the stock Acura HFL system (and the stock nav/infotainment screen). Once the call is done it reverts to the Vline android auto.

Is there a way to make the calls go through and be controlled by the Vline instead?

You should be able to stay in the VLine while connected to the factory Bluetooth for hands-free calls. Ensure that your unit is updated to the latest available firmware. here is how to: https://youtu.be/UrQ2TWJ5v1Q

After the firmware update, if the problem is still there, please contact our technical team at https://gromaudio.com/support.html They will look into it further.

Thanks, I've updated the firmware and upgraded to android 12. I've emailed support, but I'll post here as well on the chance a forum member has an answer.

After updating the unit doesn't seem to think bluetooth is connected for the phone. Wireless android auto works, and it will start the call, but then it bumps to the handset (and I can toggle it to the phone speaker with the Vline, but not to the car's microphone/speakers).

Under my bluetooth settings the 'VLINE2' item has 'Audio' and 'Internet access' available to select but nothing else. The audio device type is 'others'. Phone is updated to the most recent android version for a S23 Ultra.

I don't see an obvious setting for bluetooth in the vline settings that should trigger it. Any chance you can help?

If the VLine is bringing you back to the Factory UI during a call, you might need to press and hold the MENU button (by the control knob) for 3 seconds to force the VLine2 back onto the screen.

If that does not help, can you let us know what version the VLine is on? It could possibly be related to the firmware.
        You can find that here:
Settings -> System -> VLine System Updates -> Installed Version (We need the information for "VBase" and "VCore")

        Thanks,
