  • Can't download updates, get a write file error

Can't seem to do an over the air update. My current version is pretty old, from 2021. When I tried to download the update, I get a Write File Error - Permission Denied. This is for both the Vline Update and the Firmware Update.

    Try resetting the VLine
Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset) > RESET TABLET > ERASE EVERYTHING
    Then try it again.

I have the exact same issue. The solution above is not a solution. Why would I have to erase everything, lose all my settings and start over? Please fix this.

So there are no options to reset the tablet at all. I have also torn the dash apart and removed the module as a hard reset and I am having the same issue after reinstalling.

You can also try to reboot first; here is how to: https://youtu.be/86eTExkcQo8

Those options are not there. I posted a screenshot of the only option I have under that menu. I didn't need a video. I did exactly what the video says and my only option is reset app preferences. We need a fix for this ASAP. It is going on 2 weeks with no solution.

I had same issue with my VL2 but GROM Customer Support helped resolve as follows:

Do you have multiple users set up on the VLine? If so, go to the second page on the Vline and select users and make sure the first one is the user logged in.

This will cause the same error with resetting and also effect updates as well.

This was causing my error loop, once I went back to the first or default ‘User’ the GROM came with - my error message went away and I could download and install my VLine and Gapps updates.

                    Thank you GROM CS!

                    Hope this helps others
