  • Frozen after strange message

Has anyone seen this before ?
Needless to say that it didn't restart at all, and it is still frozen on that screen, also preventing the use of the car side of the system Click image for larger version

Solved. Had to disconnect the VL2 completely, and at reconnection it booted. However, the phone audio is now not being transferred to the VL2, but remains on the phone despite the rest going through Android Auto.

Glad to see you were able to solve the problem!
As for the phone's audio, do you mean the music or the phone calls?
We recommend you to reset the Android Auto wireless connection as it is shown here:

I mean the calls. They have been working fine through the VL2 until it hung up yesterday, and now the controls work but the audio remains on the phone, so I can search a number and initiate a call, or answer one, on the Android Auto screen, but there is no audio signal transfer between phone and VL2 anymore. What has gone wrong ?

The phone calls are not supported by Android Auto. Most likely, your phone was connected to the factory Bluetooth in your car but somehow got disconnected. You need to reconnect it to your factory car stereo, but only for the phone calls (not the media).

Here is the how-to video: https://youtu.be/OjV0bFsvhtY

You can initiate the phone call through Android Auto and accept or reject it. But the actual call goes through the factory stereo.
