  • Is it possible to still use the Carplay via USB if using the Carplay via BT?

We were recently on a road trip and my partner was going to drive and wanted to plug in his phone to Carplay while driving. I figured if I connected to USB1 on the unit that it would work. It did show up as a device (I saw his Iphone name) but kept on refusing to connect. Was I suppose to disable the BT Carplay prior to getting it to work via USB? Another question: is it possible to easily add another phone to connect via BT? Is it easier that way?
    Thanks
    Roberto

    Hello Roberto,

If you are actively using Wireless CarPlay and another iPhone gets plugged into USB1, the Wired CarPlay will not launch. You would need to disconnect Wireless CarPlay and then plug in the other phone.

    To Disconnect Wireless CarPlay:
    1. Find the GROM App in CarPlay
    2. Open the GROM App
    3. You will now be in "CarPlay Settings"
    4. Tap your iPhone at the bottom of the screen to disconnect

Once that has been done, the other iPhone can then be plugged in.

If you'd like to do Wireless CarPlay on the other device instead of Wired, you can replace step 4 with this:
    4. Tap the other iPhone at the bottom of the screen to start the pairing process

    Thanks,
