VL2 stuck on boot screen (steering wheel does not move)

The VL2 in my 2015 Lexus GS 350 suddenly refuse to boot about 3 weeks ago. It has the Android 12 upgrade and the last firmware update was around early October. The unit worked fine for days after the firmware upgrade but then suddenly refused to boot. It boots to the boot screen with the steering wheel and blinks (restart?), but would never finish. The steering wheel graphic does not move on screen.

I removed the unit and had it sit on my desk for a week and still does not boot. Any ideas?

I have had the unit for 3+ years and have been very happy with it when it works.

Is there a way to wipe and flash the firmware and OS on the VL2? I found steps to flash firmware but the firmware is pretty old. Has anyone tried them?
