We plan to release Android 12 on June 25th. You can pre-order the upgrade now and save $10. The price will go up after June 30th.

If you ordered the VLine VL2 system on or after May 1st, you will receive a free upgrade. The benefits of Android 12 upgrade include:

Support for the latest apps that might not be available for Android 8.1;

Better support for external devices for advanced users (USB audio, LTE modems);

Separate video out for rear seat displays (HDMI OUT);

More polished native Android UI.

Note that the Android version of the VLine VL2 system does not affect CarPlay and Android Auto.

To be eligible for the upgrade to Android 12, you need a VLine VL2 system that is fully up-to-date with firmware and software updates and runs on Android 8.1.

Note that you can add the touchscreen overlay to the GROM VLine VL2 system for select Mercedes-Benz Stereos. This will allow for extra convenience when using the GROM VLine VL2 system for CarPlay and Android Auto on the factory stereo.
